Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective 22 September 2026 · Version 1.1
JobRunner is operated by Fortem Equity Holdings (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2016/136337/07), trading as JobRunner. This policy explains how trials, subscriptions, cancellations and refunds work. It forms part of our Terms of Service. If anything here is unclear, email accounts@jobrunner.co.za before you subscribe.
1. Free trial
- Every new business gets a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
- No payment is taken during the trial.
- When the trial ends, you choose a plan and pay to continue. If you don't, your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, view and export your data, but you can't create new jobs or documents until a plan is active.
- Nothing is deleted when a trial ends. See section 7 for how long we keep your data.
2. Plans and billing
- Plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance, in South African rand (ZAR).
- Payment is by debit or credit card through Paystack, our payment provider. JobRunner never sees or stores your card number.
- Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before that date.
- All prices are shown excluding VAT. Fortem Equity Holdings (Pty) Ltd is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to your invoice. If that changes, you will be told at least 30 days in advance.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change. A price change never applies mid-period to a period you have already paid for.
3. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing in the web app, or by emailing accounts@jobrunner.co.za from the owner's email address.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep full access until then.
- Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current period, except as set out in section 4.
- You can reactivate at any time within the retention period in section 7 and pick up where you left off.
4. Refunds
Monthly plans
- Monthly fees are not refundable once a billing period has started. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Annual plans
- If you switch to an annual plan and change your mind, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the first annual charge, provided the account has not been used for live business (a reasonable-use check applies).
- After 7 days, annual fees are not refundable for the remaining months. Cancellation stops the next renewal.
Errors on our side
- If you are charged in error — a duplicate charge, a charge after a confirmed cancellation, or a charge for a plan you did not choose — we refund it in full. Email accounts@jobrunner.co.za with the transaction reference.
Service failure
- If JobRunner is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours because of a fault on our side, you may claim a pro-rata credit for the downtime against your next invoice.
Refunds go back to the original card through Paystack and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
5. Failed payments
- If a payment fails, we notify the account owner by email and in the app.
- Monthly plans: we retry the payment on day 3 and day 7. From day 10 the workspace becomes read-only: everything stays visible, but nothing new can be created. From day 14 the subscription is suspended.
- Annual plans: we retry the payment on days 2, 5, 9 and 14. From day 21 the workspace becomes read-only, and from day 30 the subscription is suspended.
- All data is kept throughout. Paying at any point restores full access.
- We never add late fees or interest.
6. Changing plans
- Upgrading takes effect immediately. The difference is charged pro rata for the rest of the current period.
- Downgrading takes effect at the next renewal. If your team has more technicians than the smaller plan allows, you will need to deactivate technicians before the downgrade can complete.
- Switching from monthly to annual takes effect immediately, with credit for the unused part of the month. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of the annual period.
7. Your data after cancellation
- After your subscription ends, your account is kept intact and read-only for 90 days so you can export everything or reactivate.
- After 90 days we begin deletion, completed within a further 30 days, except where South African law requires us to keep records longer (for example tax and company records, which we keep for the statutory period).
- You can request an export of your data at any time at accounts@jobrunner.co.za.
8. Your rights under South African law
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Where those Acts give you a right to cancel or a cooling-off period, that right applies in addition to this policy.
